Shane chuckled softly, “ya’ have to, c’mon.” He went to stand, helping Landon grab his footing on the bottom of the hot tub, Shane’s strong arms wrapping around his waist, as the air cooled the skin that had been submerged. “You’ll die if ya’ don’t go back soon, my love, now let’s go.” He stepped out of the hottub, his hand holding Landon’s and stood on the cement ground as he watched the other man climb out. ” He smiled up to him, “its OK. Trust me.”

Landon stood up, with Shane’s help, his eyes looking at him through the cloudy tears. He took the man’s hand, climbing out of the hottub, a sigh escaping his lips. “Ye’ really think I’ll be OK?” he asked, shaking his head as he took a step towards Shane, slipping his arms around him as he gazed up into his eyes, “I won’t be OK until I’m back here… with you. Ye’ know that too… heh, you’re jus’ tryin’ ta’ make me feel better.” He let out a sad laugh as he wiped the tears from his face once more.

“C’mon,” Shane led them inside through the sliding door and up the stairs to the master suite before he responded, “you’ll be just fine, Landon. You have someone to look out for now. You wouldn’t be the man I love if you just let yourself rot - him along with you.” He gestured to the bed and climbed in first, his still dripping body not effecting the sheets at all. “Come ‘ere.”

His words tugged at his heart, his shoulders falling slightly as he watched Shane crawl into the bed first. Landon’s bottom lip quivered as he stepped forward and crawled into the bed, nuzzling his body up against the other man’s, feeling his warmth against his skin. “I love you so much, Shane,” he whispered, trying to will himself to stay asleep so he would stay with him longer, “it’s so hard to say goodbye again… heh, but I’m so glad that I got to see ye’…

“I love you, Landon.” Shane held him as close as he could, his lips speaking against the other mans forehead, “you made it so easy for me. Every fuckin’ thing came easy, heh, even dyin’. An’ I’m so sorry I left you to fend for yourself, but you’ll do fine. I love you, fuck, man, I love you so goddamn much.” He suppressed a whimper, his chest still shaking with the emotion of it as he kissed Landon’s forehead.

He shook his head as he listened to him; this couldn’t be happening. This had to be real, it had to be. Landon gazed down at him with teary eyes, “I need ye’ though… I can’t do this without ye’.” His throat tightened again as the tears rolled down his scruffy cheeks. “I’m not tha’ same without ye’,” he cried, lifting his hand to wipe the tears from his face, his gaze avoiding Shane’s now. He couldn’t believe how pathetic he sounded; it wasn’t like him.

Shane smiled at him, in spite of his own tears trickling down his face, “you’ll do just fine, Landon. Ya’ always have.” He reached up to halt Landon’s hand, and used his own thumb to wipe the man’s tears away, his other hand gently rubbing his back. “You are the same, I know it, just takes time, babe,” he spoke softly, his voice soothing, “just don’t throw it all away, ya’ gotta’ keep fightin’, man.” He waited till their eyes met again, “we should get ya’ to bed soon. You’re gettin’ better.”

His hand leaned into the man’s touch, enjoying the feeling of his skin brushing against his cheek. He wanted to believe him - believe that he was still the same, that he should keep fighting, that he’d be fine. It was hard for him to accept. When their eyes met once more, he shook his head quickly as fresh tears began to form, “no, I don’t want to. I jus’ want to stay with you, here…” His words came out sad, full of pain… as if he were begging him. “Please,” he cried softly, “I jus’ want to stay.
